CompanySift helps you prepare a prospect shortlist using licensed business-directory information. This page describes the current service, including features that remain disabled until their launch checks are complete.
Your account and workspace
Browsing does not require an account. Saving creates a private browser preview that expires after 24 hours. Creating an account keeps your saved businesses, status, notes and completed briefs across devices. We store a sign-in name, salted password hash and hashed recovery key. We do not store the plaintext password or recovery key. A secure essential cookie maintains your session for up to 30 days.
Keep your recovery key private. CompanySift does not use an email address for sign-in or password recovery. The sign-in name and recovery key together can reset your password.
AI-assisted briefs
When live AI briefs are enabled and you request one, OpenAI receives the business category, your selected service and whether the source has a website/address. Your account identity, notes, phone numbers and full business address are not included in that prompt. The model selects verification questions from a reviewed set. Directory facts and contact fields are copied directly from the licensed source; they are not generated by the model. API requests use store:false. Provider processing and retention remain subject to OpenAI's API data policies.
Business information
Business names, addresses, website fields and source-listed phone numbers come from the Overture Places release dated 19 August 2026. Coverage is a selected rectangle around Bengaluru, not a complete city listing. Contacts, trading status, identity and website ownership are unverified. A listed number may be shared or personal; its presence does not establish marketing permission. CompanySift does not send outreach.
Source attribution and data licenses
Payments and service providers
Cloudflare hosts the application and its databases. If a paid plan is enabled, Razorpay handles hosted checkout and payment details. CompanySift stores subscription identifiers, verified payment amounts, billing periods and refund/cancellation status. Card details are not collected by CompanySift. The exact seller and total price must appear in your quote before payment.
Abuse prevention and support
Short-lived hashes of connection addresses and sign-in/workspace identifiers limit abuse. We retain rate-limit counters for their admission window and remove expired counters on scheduled cleanup. Cloudflare may independently process connection information for security and hosting. There are no advertising trackers in this service. Support requests contain the text you submit and an opaque workspace reference; do not include passwords or financial credentials.
Export and deletion
Export saved businesses, notes and completed briefs from your workspace. “Delete my account” first stops active renewals, then revokes sessions and removes your sign-in, notes, saved list, support messages and brief content. If the payment provider cannot confirm cancellation, deletion stops and tells you to retry; it does not silently abandon a renewal.
Opaque financial/provider receipts and aggregate budget records may remain for accounting, refunds and abuse prevention. Already delivered sales milestones contain an opaque acquisition reference and outcome only, not your contact details or research content. An in-flight provider request cannot be recalled, but a deleted workspace cannot publish its result. Expired browser previews are removed by scheduled cleanup.

Use Support in your signed-in workspace for data corrections, access, deletion or billing questions. The current early release does not promise an automated support response or response time.
